The Issues

Denton is a great city.  In fact, in many ways, thanks to the creativity, ambitions, and vision of our citizens and institutions, we are a world-class city.  It is because of this that we should seek to be a city on the cutting-edge of civic possibilities, not merely following the trend of other supposedly “comparable” cities.  Our citizens are certainly up for the task, for there is nothing that is wrong with our city that can’t be fixed with what is good about our city.

Please spend some time reading some of my views on these particular issues.  I’d also like to hear your thoughts on these and other topics, so make sure you contact me.

Denton offers the largest monetary rebate for solar power than any other utility company in the state of Texas ($15,000). Denton is an innovative leader with our recycling efforts... continue reading →

Neighborhoods

The protection of Denton's neighborhoods should be a high priority for the City Council. Beyond mere protection, it is time that Denton begin brainstorming ways to encourage continued revitalization within our older core neighborhoods, many of which are within District 1... continue reading →

History and Character of Denton

Denton's history and corresponding character are what set us apart from other cities in the metroplex. As we grow and there is increased interest in development, there needs to be continual education among the key decision makers both at the council and city staff level, of the uniqueness of our town... continue reading →

Vision for A-Train

The A-Train will begin its service to Denton this summer. This will transform our city in ways unimaginable today... continue reading →

Our Children

What are we doing as a city to help our young people develop their citizenship so as to be future contributing and engaged members of our democracy? What are we doing as a city to foster our children's sense of civic duty and responsibility? continue reading →
